On The Streets Education is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people within our alternative education provision. We have robust safeguarding policies and procedures in place, which are reviewed regularly to ensure effectiveness. All staff receive appropriate safeguarding training and understand their responsibilities in keeping students safe, including those who require SEND support.

We adopt a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach to behaviour within our alternative education provision, recognising that many learners accessing this support have experienced barriers to engagement in mainstream education. Our safeguarding policies ensure clear expectations are established, with a strong focus on emotional regulation, positive relationships, and re-engagement in learning.

As an alternative education provision, we support learners with a wide range of SEND needs, including those that are undiagnosed or emerging. Individual needs are assessed on entry, and provision is adapted to ensure appropriate SEND support and reasonable adjustments. We work closely with referring schools, families, and external agencies while adhering to safeguarding policies to meet learners’ needs and support positive outcomes.

Our alternative education provision curriculum is intervention-led and personalised, focusing on re-engagement, core academic skills, social and emotional development, and preparation for transition. We adhere to safeguarding policies to ensure a safe learning environment. Learning programmes are tailored to individual starting points and designed to provide SEND support, facilitating reintegration into mainstream education or progression to an appropriate next placement.

On The Streets Education is an inclusive alternative education provision that values diversity and promotes equality of opportunity. We are committed to implementing safeguarding policies that remove barriers to learning and ensure all young people, including those who require SEND support, are treated with dignity, respect, and fairness.

We recognize the importance of clear communication and accountability within alternative education provision. Any concerns or complaints related to our safeguarding policies are taken seriously and managed in line with our complaints procedure, which is also available upon request.
